The New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language is a member of the National Chinese Association. In 1978 New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language was founded by a group of Chinese parents wanting their next generation to learn their heritage language Chinese. Since then our school has gone through various changes to meet the needs of our students to learn Chinese. In the last forty years of serving the community, our school has helped over 1800 children and adults learn to speak and write Chinese, and to appreciate one of the world’s richest and oldest cultures. 

Language Classes and Extra-Curricular Classes

Our school offers both Simplified/Pinyin and Traditional/Zhuyin Chinese classes. We also offer English speaking classes for the learning of Chinese. Our school holds classes each Sunday from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at Grant Middle School, which is located at 1111 Easterday Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Language instruction classes are held from 1:30pm to 3:00pm followed by extra-curricular classes from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Extra-curricular classes (free) include Chinese chess, Arts and Crafts, DanceVoices, and Painting
$120 per student; 
$90 for children of full-time UNM students; 
$60 for the 3rd child from same family and all children of NMCSAL teachers. 

The minimum age for children to attend our school is five years old. We welcome Adult students.

Voices Class

We offer a new extra curricular class,Voices, for students ten years or older, and adults. This class will provide students a basic music foundation which is essential for a vocal performer.

  • The time is from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday.

  • The teacher, Ms. Huang, is an undergraduate student at UNM Music department.

This course is to advance your singing talent by:
* Creating a stable, healthy and lasting vocal technique based on the knowledge of vocal anatomy & physiology. 
* Improving musicianship skills. 
* Developing disciplined, productive practice techniques and repertoire preparation skills.
* Singing in a variety of languages and vocal music genres
* Giving expressive and polished performances

To succeed in this course, you must:
* Attend your scheduled class
* Practice daily with focused intention

Dance Class

Our dance teacher, Xihan Wen, graduated from Beijing Opera Art's College in China.  She is skilled at Chinese folk dance, and is experienced in teaching dance in a fun and easy-to-follow way.  This course aims to help students acquire grace, poise, fun, enjoyment, and much more through the appreciation and practice of dance.

On September 23, 2018, the New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival in Albuquerque. Each of students and teachers ate the traditional moon cake, and they enjoyed all kinds of activities such as Play Chess, Idiom Solitaire, Pingpang game and so on. Some parents involved these interesting activities as well. 

On February 3, 2019, New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese New Year in Albuquerque. It was a joyful day filled with celebration and appreciation. The main highlight is the students' celebration performances. There are more than 8 kinds of performances, such as Drama, Puppet Show, Chorus, Flute duet, Dance, completing  the Chinese Poetry, and so on. Every one of these performances was enjoyed by the audiences. 

Past Events:
2018年夏季,本校马筱露老师参加了由俄亥俄州拖莱多大学举办的星谈中文教师领袖营的教师培训。Our school teacher, Ms. Annie Ma, participated in a teaching training of STARTALK-CHEIER holded by University of Toledo Ohio. It is a Chinese Leadership program for teacher training during the Summer of 2018.

2014 Outstanding Service Award presented to two board members, two teachers, and one teacher assistant. New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language honored their dedication and commitment.

2013 Chinese New Year CelebrationOur school has successfully organized 2013 Chinese new year party on February 10, 2013 at Auditorium, Domenici Center for Health Sciences Education. 

2012年夏季 本校谢飞亚老师参加了由国家侨办和厦门华侨大学举办的海外华文教师汉语言文化培训. Our school teacher, Ms Xie, attended "Oversea Chinese Language and Culture Education 2012 Summer Camp". Here is the presentation.

2012年1月10日  驻洛杉矶总领事邱绍芳会见新墨西哥州侨学界代表, 并捐赠新墨西哥州中文学校1000美元。
