Online Summer Camp for Chinese Learning

NMCSAL will start an online summer camp to facilitate Chinese learning for our students. The summer camp will start on May 31 and end on Aug 2 (on Sundays). There are totally 10 class sessions and each session lasts around 1 hour. The detailed class schedule is decided by the teachers. To encourage online learning,  we will waive the tuition fee of the summer camp. But we would like to collect $20 registration fee to secure our students' attendance. ABCs of online learning

Free Art&Craft Class from July 12 to Aug 2 (on Sundays, 4pm to 4:45pm,  total 4 classes). Please email with student name, age, parents' name and phone number, if you are interested. No registration fee, completely free.


The New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language is a member of the National Chinese Association. In 1978 New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language was founded by a group of Chinese parents wanting their next generation to learn their heritage language Chinese. Since then our school has gone through various changes to meet the needs of our students to learn Chinese. In the last forty years of serving the community, our school has helped over 1800 children and adults learn to speak and write Chinese, and to appreciate one of the world’s richest and oldest cultures. 

Language Classes and Extra-Curricular Classes

Our school offers both Simplified/Pinyin and Traditional/Zhuyin Chinese classes. We also offer English speaking classes for the learning of Chinese. Our school holds classes each Sunday from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at Grant Middle School, which is located at 1111 Easterday Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Language instruction classes are held from 1:30pm to 3:00pm followed by extra-curricular classes from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Extra-curricular classes (free) include Chinese chess, Arts and Crafts, DanceVoices, Painting, Martial Arts and HSK Exam


$120 per student; 
$90 per children of full-time UNM students; 
$90 per person for Grant Middle School(GMS) employees, students and children of GMS employees
$60 for the 3rd child from same family and all children of NMCSAL teachers. 

The minimum age for children to attend our school is five years old. We welcome Adult students.

On September 15, 2019, the New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival in Albuquerque. Teacher Qiyun Li and the dance team brought us beautiful traditional Chinese dance performance. Students from Pinyin 5 (Teacher Yichun Wang) also told us the origin of Mid-autumn Festival. Furthermore, each of students and teachers ate the traditional moon cake, and they enjoyed all kinds of activities such as Play Chess, Idiom Solitaire, Pingpang game and so on. Some parents involved these interesting activities as well. 

On February 3, 2019, New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese New Year in Albuquerque. It was a joyful day filled with celebration and appreciation. The main highlight is the students' celebration performances. There are more than 8 kinds of performances, such as Drama, Puppet Show, Chorus, Flute duet, Dance, completing  the Chinese Poetry, and so on. Every one of these performances was enjoyed by the audiences.

2018年夏季,本校马筱露老师参加了由俄亥俄州拖莱多大学举办的星谈中文教师领袖营的教师培训。Our school teacher, Ms. Annie Ma, participated in a teaching training of STARTALK-CHEIER holded by University of Toledo Ohio. It is a Chinese Leadership program for teacher training during the Summer of 2018.

2012年夏季 本校谢飞亚老师参加了由国家侨办和厦门华侨大学举办的海外华文教师汉语言文化培训. Our school teacher, Ms Xie, attended "Oversea Chinese Language and Culture Education 2012 Summer Camp". Here is the presentation.
