NMCSAL welcomes our students back for the Spring Semester 2021! Spring 2021 Academic Calendar

As our community at large is impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the NMCSAL board has decided to offer spring semester 2021 classes online only. The classes are still scheduled on Sundays, and will start on Jan 10th 2021. We will have morning class session and afternoon class session. Morning session classes are from 10:00am to 11:30am. Afternoon session classes are from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. We will also offer FREE extracurricular classes including Chinese Chess and Drawing. Extracurricular classes are from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Spring 2021 tuition:

  • $120 per student

  • $90 per child for full-time UNM students

  • $90 per person for full-time GMS employee, GMS student and child of GMS employee

  • $90 per child for former board member who has served for three years or more

  • $60 for the 3rd child from same family and all children of NMCSAL teachers.

Tuition payment due date for the Spring Semester 2021 is Jan 24th 2021. NMCSAL allows 3 trial classes. We will issue you a full refund if the student decides to withdraw by Jan 24th 2021. Tuition is non-refundable after Jan 24th.

The New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language is a member of the National Chinese Association. In 1978 New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language was founded by a group of Chinese parents wanting their next generation to learn their heritage language Chinese. Since then our school has gone through various changes to meet the needs of our students to learn Chinese. In the last forty years of serving the community, our school has helped over 2000 children and adults learn to speak and write Chinese, and to appreciate one of the world’s richest and oldest cultures.

Language Classes and Extracurricular Classes

Our school offers both Simplified/Pinyin and Traditional/Zhuyin Chinese classes. We also offer English speaking classes for the learning of Chinese. Our school holds classes each Sunday from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at Grant Middle School, which is located at 1111 Easterday Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Language instruction classes are held from 1:30pm to 3:00pm followed by extra-curricular classes from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Extra-curricular classes (free) include Chinese chess, Arts and Crafts, Dance, Voices, Painting, Martial Arts and HSK Exam.


$120 per student.

The minimum age for children to attend our school is five years old. We welcome Adult students.

On February 14, 2021, New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese New Year online through Zoom. All teachers and students participated in the show. Thanks everyone for your meticulous preparation and wonderful performances! Special thanks to Talin Market and Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse for donating prize draws.

On September 15, 2019, the New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival in Albuquerque. Teacher Qiyun Li and the dance team brought us beautiful traditional Chinese dance performance. Students from Pinyin 5 (Teacher Yichun Wang) also told us the origin of Mid-autumn Festival. Furthermore, each of students and teachers ate the traditional moon cake, and they enjoyed all kinds of activities such as Play Chess, Idiom Solitaire, Pingpang game and so on. Some parents involved these interesting activities as well.

On February 3, 2019, New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language celebrated the Chinese New Year in Albuquerque. It was a joyful day filled with celebration and appreciation. The main highlight is the students' celebration performances. There are more than 8 kinds of performances, such as Drama, Puppet Show, Chorus, Flute duet, Dance, completing the Chinese Poetry, and so on. Every one of these performances was enjoyed by the audiences.

2018年夏季,本校马筱露老师参加了由俄亥俄州拖莱多大学举办的星谈中文教师领袖营的教师培训. Our school teacher, Ms. Annie Ma, participated in a teaching training of STARTALK-CHEIER holded by University of Toledo Ohio. It is a Chinese Leadership program for teacher training during the Summer of 2018.

2013 Chinese New Year Celebration: Our school has successfully organized 2013 Chinese new year party on February 10, 2013 at Auditorium, Domenici Center for Health Sciences Education.
