Lan was born and raised in a small town of the southwest of China. During college she majored in English Education. That was when she decided to step into the education arena. After graduation, she worked in a big language school as a study advisor, where she met her coworkers who came from all over the world like America, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, etc. And students of all age groups. She got promoted as an operation manager after a year and continued to work there for another three years before she decided to move to the US. This first job had a great impact on her. When she arrived in Albuquerque in June 2016, she still felt a strong culture shock right away which took her some time to become adjusted. So, she decided to find a job as a Chinese teacher to spread Chinese language and culture. Lan was married here and has a beautiful six months old baby now. Her life in America went from uncertainty to certain happiness, and now she loves the life here. And all the outdoor activities with families and friends in New Mexico only adds to the fun.
