My name is Julianne Wong. This is my first year teaching at the New Mexico Chinese School of Arts and Language. My passion for Chinese language began when I had the opportunity to live in China for two years in 1993. I was a student at Long Island University in a language and culture immersion program in partnership with Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Since then, I have spent time living either in my home state of New Mexico or in different Chinese cities. In addition to involvement with several cross-cultural work environments, I have taught English and served as foreign exchange coordinator at Peigen School in Dalian, China. I recently taught introductory Mandarin at Santa Fe Preparatory High School. I have an undergraduate degree at UNM in East Asian Studies, Chinese language track and am currently applying to graduate school.
